Project H.E.A.L. - Carolina Chapter

The next "Operation Beautiful" benefit is Friday, October 21,2011 at The Soapbox in Wilmington, NC!

Founded by: Heather Purdin

The Carolina Chapter of Project H.E.A.L. (Help to Eat, Accept, & Live) upholds the two-fold mission of Project HEAL: (a) to raise treatment scholarship funds for those unable to afford medically neccessary treatment for an eating disorder and (b) to reduce society's obsession with body image. Our local chapter holds fundraisers that promote posiitve body image, such as "Operation Beautiful" bringing together local performers (musicians, dancers, artists) and businesses for fun, lively events! In addition to raising money for the "Help to Heal" treatment scholarship fund, we are kickstarting community outreach and prevention programs Fall 2011.

 Custom Surfboard Donation!!!

A special thanks goes out to Carl Heverly Shapes for donating a custom surfboard to our "Operation Beautiful" event auction to benefit Project H.E.A.L.

Between our efforts and a generous discount from the Tapestry residential treatment program, we were able to help fund 28 days of treatment for a motivated applicant who could not otherwise have afforded the care she received.
